Our Current Bible Study and the Schedule for 2008

2008 Bible Study Schedule

2008 is the year of Saint Paul,so we are focusing this year on his two letters to the Corinthians. These letters cover many exciting topics that speak to us today -- divisions in the Body of Christ, sin and Purgatory, the Eucharist and what it means to receive it unworthily, God's grace and the Resurrection, the role of men and women in the Chruch, the gifts of the Spirit, the future of creation, and many more.

For this study, we will be using the Ignatius Study Bible (including Scott Hahn's detailed commentary) as our text. For those who may not already have a copy, we have copies available for a donation of $8 each (list price is $10). We will also be bringing to bear the insights of the great New Testament scholar N. T. Wright who has written extensively on these two epistles. N. T. Wright is an exceptional scholar who is deeply admired by both Catholics and Protestants alike.

We meet in the Parish Hall on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month at about 7:30 pm, immediately following the Saturday vigil mass. Children's Bible Fun meets at the same time (also in the Hall) so parents can bring their kids!

Here is the 2008 schedule. Come and join us! We look forward to seeing you!
